No suit or legal proceedings shall lie against the State Government or voluntary organisation running the home or any officer and the staff appointed in pursuance of this Act in respect of anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or of any rules or order made there under.
This section extends legal protection to the State Government and the voluntary organisations running the Children’s Home, Special Home or the Shelter Home and other officers and staff appointed and, functioning under the Act for the acts done by them in good faith in pursuance of this Act or the rules or orders made there under.

An act would be said to have been done in good faith when it is done honestly, bona fide and without malice.
An act done carelessly or negligently cannot be said to have been done in good faith.
