Charles Bukowski is a genius writer who has written this poem “An Almost Made Up”. This poem is guiding youth to beware of love as it hurts a lot.
The poet has felt this and the way he is explaining his situation is breathtaking. He is in his memories while writing this poem. He has stated that he loved one young girl who was belonging to the same profession. The writer loves her but speaks all his thoughts in mind only. The way in which he explains his plans shows that pure love is still alive in this world.
This world needs a pure love beyond money, fame and other greedy things. Love doesn’t need money as it is priceless, love doesn’t need fame as people feel royal life into it and love doesn’t need greedy things as people in love are not selfish. All these facts are applicable to those who are in True love not just in love.
Poet writes about his plans as the girl he loved was admiring for fame, writer has told her about fake fame in the past but she had not listened to him. Thus, writer has written everything in the language of “If and So”. The writer tries to explain her that she should not run behind the fame as he knew about these celebrities lifestyle. All celebrities care for their fame and not for the girl with whom they spent their one night. For them money can buy anything even woman’s self respect and morals.
