In the days before women’s liberation, women were expected to play only one role and that was as home maker. This involved being wife, mother, and cook and clean up woman.
Perhaps life was simpler back then. The men took care of providing food and shelter and the women took care of the home.
Women’s liberation has meant that women can now think beyond the hearth. They can aspire to have dreams and hope to have the opportunity to use their grey matter. Women’s liberation has meant that women have a choice at least.

We can actually choose to pursue a career. However the new age woman is expected to work and still perform her duties of homemaker, which is a tough act and it is this which has led to women having to succumb to making a choice.
Educated women are increasingly under pressure to dump their jobs in favour of staying at home.
Women are the ones chosen by God to carry out the important task of procreation so there is no running away from that fact. Women could find a way to work around this which of course would mean some amount of juggling. It would mean thinking out of the box.

Many women who have wanted to pursue their dreams or career along with motherhood have chosen to work from home. Many mothers have opted to work part time. There are actually many ways to raise good kids and being a stay-at-home mom is only one of them.
The sooner women accept this the easier it will be for them to get on with their lives.
Someone once said, “The flight from the home is a flight from yourself, from responsibility, from the nature of woman, in pursuit of false hopes and fading illusions.” This is not true.
Pursuing a career while having an active family life is no longer just a thought, it is a reality that many women are living and having dreams beyond motherhood is no longer considered evil. It would however be sad if women chose not to live up to their potential.

Motherhood is only one facet of a female’s life perhaps bestowed on her because she can handle much more. If a woman chooses career over motherhood she is constantly plagued with thoughts of having compromised her children’s lives and in the event that she is forced to choose care over career she continues to just exist, having murdered all her aspirations and dreams.
It is important for everyone to understand there will always be a good percentage of women who need more mental stimulation than one is able to derive from reading a bedtime story in pajamas for the umpteenth time. Still it is a difficult choice to make and women shouldn’t have to make it at all.
The reasons why women have been unable to get rid of the guilt is probably because they have not received much support .While in some countries the government has encouraged female education by providing free education for females, it has not provided an environment that will help a woman balance work with motherhood.
Most private companies allow for the woman to take three months leave when the baby is born, rightly because she is the one going to be delivering the baby, but it would help if the father of the baby was given leave for a couple of months as well.
Very few companies have in-house creches that can help the mother keep an eye on the kid while at work. If all companies would adopt this facility it would mean that a lot more women would come to work and not have to make that crippling choice. It would also mean that the money spent by the State on subsidizing female education would finally bear fruition.
